Five years ago, Margaret McLarty of Sioux City, Iowa, was trapped in a raging fire. Her only hope of survival was to jump six stories to the ground to waiting firemen. Miraculously, Margaret survived. When she finally came out of the trauma and shock of it all, there at her bedside was a bright, colorful get well “flour” basket from Blooming Cookies®.
While the big, chewy cookie flours were certainly hard to resist, Margaret didn't touch them - choosing instead to keep them wrapped and displayed in her home where they remain to this day as a constant reminder of how fragile life is, how important friends are and her resolve from that moment was not to waste a second of the precious time she was given.
