When I am designing and creating artwork for my own business, my hope is that each piece evokes positive, joyful emotions in the viewer. I do not use my artwork as a vehicle for expressing my feelings on controversial issues or personal pain. Rather, my artwork is an escape—a respite from the stresses of daily life. Creating whimsical, fanciful designs brings me a great deal of happiness, and I want to spark the same feeling in those who experience my work. The best reaction to my creations is an ear-to-ear grin or a burst of laughter. That lets me know that when someone purchases that piece of art, they will smile every time they walk by it in their home, and it will provide a little escape for them too.
Animals are by far my greatest inspiration. They are furry angels
who inhabit our world and remind us of the true meaning of unconditional
love. Several years ago, I decided to devote my artwork to them
and began creating mixed media animal sculptures in various forms.
Most recently, I have been doing commissioned, 3-dimensional
pet “portraits” of cats and dogs. I have also dabbled
in miniature animal figures. I will continue to challenge myself
with new mediums and designs, but the heart and soul of my artwork,
the animals, will always remain the same.
